Our mission is to bring a reliable, effective service to Carlisle and the surrounding area that is available right now. A service that has better download AND upload speeds, with no data caps to limit customers, and can be guaranteed to give you what you pay for. For over three years now we have been helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs), schools and residential properties in Northwest Cumbria and Dumfriesshire, and more are joining us every day. Why? Not only can we provide a service like no other, we are local, accessible and understandable. Above all, we are dedicated and professional – What We Offer Is What You Get . And that's our promise.
Meet the Team
Nicholas has many years' experience of finance and of running businesses, big and small. His burning desire is to get Carlisle and the Solway recognised as the best Internet-connected areas in the UK. When not in the office, he can be found nurturing Thurstonfield Lough as a wild-life reserve of rapidly growing richness and diversity.
Tazeem's background is in finance and business. Prior to her move to Cumbria, Tazeem worked for and with local authorities in finance and project management. Her main role is to ensure that systems and procedures work effectively. Tazeem was one of the earlier customers of Solway Communications and was impressed with how the technology that Solway uses was able to deliver high performance.
Antony has been with Solway from day one. He developed and tested the first network in 2005 in rural north Cumbria until its launch in 2010. His main role as Engineering Director at Solway Comms is to build and maintain our top quality networks. He has extensive experience in the telecoms sector managing the design, installation, commissioning & operation of both internal & external communication solutions across a broad range of infrastructure developments.
Erica has been working with Nick and the team for just over 3 years now and been involved with Solway Communications from the start. Her role within Solway Communications is the administration, where she handles phone calls, emails and queries. Erica is a highly organised person and the cement that holds the company together.
Philip is a graduate in computer networking; he joined the company in July 2012. His role in Solway Communications includes setting up the networking equipment, trying out new configurations and testing the equipment, doing site surveys and equipment installations, troubleshooting and general network administration. His interests include Formula 1 motorsport and cinema.
Seb is a marketing consultant who has been working closely with Solway since its inception. He's mainly responsible for the various radio and print campaigns for the company, but he also works in the office sometimes, answering customer questions and meeting clients. When he's not spreading the word about Solway, he likes to take part in amateur dramatics and white-water kayaking - but not at the same time.
Damien is our chief installation engineer, and brings many years of expertise to the job. Damien will stop at nothing to get you connected and online. He's found up ladders and on roofs in the worst weather, so we think he secretly enjoys it.
